"I have a Polaris Trail Boss, and bought my wife the Honda Recon as a surprise birthday present. As it turned out she can't seem to grasp the shifting even with the clutch less feature, so when we ride together I ride the smaller Recon. To Be honest with you I actually prefer it to my Trail Boss. It's quicker through turns, more maneuverable and I like using the extra torque that gears provide (as opposed to the sluggish automatic on the Polaris). I am a big guy, 6'3", 250 lbs, and have no problem riding this fun machine at all. It has even gotten to the point that I take out the Recon when I go riding by myself or with friends. When it comes to reliability you can't touch a Honda, I had the initial service after 10 hrs and have done nothing but change the oil since. The Polaris has been in the shop for adjustments and repairs 4 times in 1 year, and I have had to replace 3 different of the plastic items on the Polaris that just seem break every time you touch them. This includes the gas cap that just broke off in my hand when putting it on one day. My original intention had been to purchase a Polaris Sportsman when I had more money, but after owning the Honda Recon, I will definitely stay with the Honda line and probably purchase a Foreman or Rubicon. In short if you are looking for an entry level atv, with plenty of performance, reliability, and overall fun, this is your machine." "This quad is the best for the price. It's made by a manufacturer that you can trust, and is very maneuverable. I can get this thing through places that others have four-wheel-drive for. This 4-wheeler is the bomb. It has a fairly fast top speed(about 51 MPH), goes everywhere, does anything, and is very fun. I bought this quad because I wanted one, and after driving the Recon I went and bought one. It was comparable, but won on everything that I looked at. I was comparing it to the Polaris trail blazer and trail boss, but they couldn't do as much as the Recon. They also didn't have the features that the 2001 Honda Recon has." Recommended

"I would recommend this quad highly because it is the best quality, for the best price, and it can go anywhere/ do anything. I love it. You should buy this quad if you want an inexpensive, all around awesome machine. It's great for hauling loads, getting around, and just plain ol' fun. It is very fun to drive and is easy to control. It goes where others can't go(including the four-wheel-drive models!!!) This thing is great. So if you want a cheap, high quality, working machine. Or if you just want to have fun and get around, Get this."
